Temperature Reaches 33°C, Residents Urged to Stay Alert

The Beldangi Bhutanese Refugee Camp area has been experiencing a continuous rise in temperature over the past few days. Today, the temperature has reached approximately 33°C, and with clear skies, the intensity of the sunlight is being felt even more strongly.

During the daytime, the effects of the heat are clearly visible across roads, households, and various parts of the camp. Local residents are trying to protect themselves from the scorching sun by staying in the shade, drinking plenty of water, and shifting essential outdoor work to the early morning or evening hours.

Children, elderly people, and individuals engaged in outdoor labor are particularly more vulnerable to heat-related effects, so extra precautions have been advised.

❌ What to Avoid:

  • Avoid staying under direct sunlight for long periods
  • Do not allow the body to become dehydrated
  • Avoid excessive intake of tea, coffee, and other hot beverages
  • Do not keep children and elderly people in the sun for extended periods

✅ What to Do:

  • Drink plenty of water and fluids regularly
  • Wear light and breathable cotton clothing
  • Stay in shaded or cool areas
  • Use umbrellas or hats when necessary

Residents are requested to take this heat condition seriously, stay cautious, and take proper care of their health.
