Reality Poetry Show “Mero Kavita: The Rhythm of Poetry” to Air from Jhapa Starting Magh 4

Beldangi, Jhapa — A new Nepali poetry-based reality show titled “Mero Kavita: The Rhythm of Poetry” is set to begin broadcasting from Jhapa starting Magh 4. The program marks Nepal’s second reality show centered on poetry, following the earlier Kathmandu-based show The Poet Idol.

Produced by My Platform, the show aims to identify and promote emerging talents who are actively writing poetry in the Nepali language. The reality show is directed by Kebal Chhetri, with Pabitra Rai serving as the assistant director.

Participants were selected through a digital audition process, from which 25 poets have been chosen after multiple screening stages. These selected contestants will compete against each other in the televised rounds of the show.

The competition follows an elimination format, where two contestants will be eliminated each week, leading to a single winner who will be crowned the champion of Mero Kavita: The Rhythm of Poetry. Alongside evaluations from the panel of judges, viewers will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite poets.

The show is currently being filmed in Beldangi, Damak–Jhapa. The judging panel includes poets Heman Yatri and Uttam Tumsa Limbu, ghazal writer Suman Smarika, and poet Agyat Dadi. Renowned journalist Suman Kurumbang will host the program.

With its focus on poetic expression, rhythm, and originality, Mero Kavita: The Rhythm of Poetry is expected to offer a fresh platform for literary voices outside the capital and contribute meaningfully to Nepal’s contemporary poetry scene.
