Sekmuri Beldangi Sports Festival 2025 Set to Begin Grandly

The Sekmuri Beldangi Sports Festival 2025 is set to kick off on Kartik 15 to 29, 2082 (early November 2025). The event is being organized by the Beldangi Camp Management Committee, co-organized by local CBOs, and financially supported by Sekmuri Club.

The festival will take place at the Beldangi Football Ground, constructed and donated by the Humagai family in memory of the late Jaya Humagai.

According to one of the organizing committee members, the festival will feature a wide range of sports including football, volleyball, badminton, and marathon races. In addition, special games for children and differently abled participants have also been arranged to make the event inclusive and engaging for all.

The opening ceremony will feature exciting events such as Junior Mini Marathon (for participants below 15 years) and a Mini Marathon for women, both scheduled to start at 7:00 AM. The formal inauguration ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by other fun competitions including long jump, high jump, slow bike race, chelo (traditional game), 100-meter race, and obstacle races for children.

The organizing committee stated that the main goal of this event is to promote unity, friendship, and health awareness among the local youth and community members through sports and recreational activities.

Furthermore, the committee has invited all sports lovers, Bhutanese refugee families—parents, brothers, and sisters—to attend the festival, enjoy the games, and help make the Sekmuri Beldangi Sports Festival 2025 a grand success.
